Company
Johnson & Johnson is the largest producer of sanitary products in the world with sales of $29.1 billion ($29,100,000,000) in 2000. Management is convinced that the productivity of their production plants will increase if employees become more competent.
Challenge
Facilitate the distribution and ensure consistency of message over time for training activities that are often repeated (e.g. ISO, Lock-out Procedures, WHMIS, etc.)
Solution
HUMENG International Inc. adapted Johnson & Johnson’s content to a pedagogical approach centered on the learner and developed a series of computer-based training activities (CBT) using our T-Prof software. Each CBT includes pretests, progressive learning exercises and post-tests. The results of each exercise are registered and allow the trainer to ensure an adequate follow-up. Teams of trainers ensure the transfer of skills learned to the shop floor.
Gains
Computer-based training ensures consistency of message. Training is now available in just-enough, just-on-time mode wherever it is needed. A reduction in training time of 25 to 40% has been documented. CBTs have also generated a renewed interest in training.
